Municipal Court is held in the Charles S. Callman Courtroom at the back of The Memorial Borough Hall (80 East River Road).

Court Sessions are the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the Month at 6:00pm.

Failure To Appear

All summonses, whether traffic, criminal or ordinance violations must be answered either by payment or a personal appearance in court. If a person fails to respond by the date shown on the summons, the court must take further action.

To make payment of parking or traffic tickets via the internet, logon to www.njmcdirect.com.

If the violation charged is payable, a "Failure to Appear" notice is sent to the defendant. An additional $10.00 penalty is assessed and the defendant is warned that a warrant will be issued and driving privileges will be suspended in New Jersey and 40+ other states if payment is not received by the date shown on the notice.

If the violation charged requires a personal appearance in court and the defendant fails to appear, the judge will order that a warrant for arrest is issued and a bail amount will be assessed.

Municipal Court is in session the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM.  Below, there is a list of more common vehicle violations:

     Unregistered Vehicle $54.00
     Failure to exhibit a drivers license or registration $180.00
     Failure to inspect $130.00
     Unclear plates $54.00
     Maintenance of lamps $54.00
     Failure to wear seatbelt $46.00
     Failure to observe signal $85.00
     Failure to turn $85.00
     Failure to stop or yield $85.00
     Failure to make repairs $130.00
     Careless driving $85.00
     Improper passing $85.00
     Driving over the speed limit
         1 - 9 MPH $85.00
         10-14 MPH $95.00
         15-19 MPH $105.00
