Garbage and Recycling Collection and Pickup Information

Emergency Procedure

A Message From the Mayor

January 2010

Dear Rumson Residents,

The 2010 Department of Public Works (DPW) bulletin contains important information on garbage collection, recycling and clean-up procedures. Please read it carefully and keep it for future reference. Your adherence to these rules will help us keep our costs down and the tax rate as low as possible.

When we enter the leaf collection months, remember leaves and brush must always be kept separate since the are transported to different recyclers. All leaves must be raked out from mid-October-December. There is no brush pickup November and December.

Please do not use the recycling center for dumping trash and debris. This has become a real problem, especially over the weekends, and could result in a fine for violators.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Sincerely,

John E. Ekdahl
