The November 2018 Issue of the Rumson School District Virtual Newsletter is available for download here.
This first newsletter of the 18-19 school year marks the end of the first marking period. Here are some of the highlights:
At Deane-Porter, Anti-Violence Awareness Week was kicked off with presentations from the Rumson Police Department. Students learned valuable safety skills including being safe at home, being safe riding a bike, and being safe in the community. Thank you to Senior Patrolman Dougherty & Officer Berger for teaching our students important life long lessons.
Deane-Porter and Forrestdale students participated in National Walk and Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. The district partnered with the Rumson Police Department to encourage students to walk or bike to ignite their personal knowledge and connection to health and bike safety potential! Students who participated were greeted by Forrestdale and Deane-Porter student leaders, awarded stickers as they arrived, and found their designated spot in the “Bike Parking Lot.” Rumson’s commitment to safe walking and biking for students, was recorded as part of a record-breaking 5,613 communities across the nation who participated.!
Forrestdale students and staff were treated to a surprise on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, when former student and music superstar, Charlie Puth, popped in for a trip down memory lane. The visit was filmed for a segment to appear later this year on CBS Sunday Morning.
