The Borough of Rumson has been awarded $3 million by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) through the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to support the 49 West River Road Affordable Housing Project.

This funding will help offset development and construction costs as the Borough continues to advance the affordable housing initiative in partnership with Bergen County United Way (BCUW).

Project Overview

The site will be developed by the Borough and Bergen County United Way (BCUW) to be 12 individual units that will be marketed as 100 percent affordable. The project will be affirmatively marketed and will be made up of 4 very low, 3 low and 5 moderate income individual units. The project will include 4 three-bedroom, 8 two-bedroom units. Construction is expected to begin 2025. The Borough and BCUW are in the process of applying for grant funding to assist and offset development and construction costs.
