MASTER PLAN
The Borough of Rumson Master Plan serves as a long-range framework for the community's future. It is a thoughtfully constructed guide that translates the shared values and aspirations of Rumson residents into actionable planning direction.

While the Master Plan is not itself law, It informs the decisions of elected officials and appointed boards as they navigate land use, zoning, transportation, and capital investment, ensuring those decisions are based on a community-driven vision.

Under New Jersey's Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL), a master plan exists to guide how land within a municipality is used in a manner that protects the public health and safety and promotes the general welfare.

The Master Plan is a living document that is revisited to ensure that Rumson's planning policies remain responsive to evolving challenges and is aligned with the community's future.
