Following the tennis/pickleball and basketball court renovations in 2025, the Borough of Rumson is excited to break ground on the Victory Park Playground replacement project, which is once again made possible through the generous donation of Rumson residents Justin and Victoria Gmelich.
The project will include the complete removal of the existing play equipment and feature a brand new nautical pirate theme with exciting, fully accessible play options, swings and climbing/physical fitness elements for children of all ages and abilities.
Playground closure and demolition could take place as early as the week of April 13th, with installation of new equipment planned for May, and the playground re-opening projected for early summer 2026. While the park will remain open to the public, the entire playground will be closed during demolition and installation of the new playground equipment.
We invite you to learn more about the project and stay-up-to-date throughout construction by visiting the Victory Park Improvement Project webpage.
