2023 Road Improvement Phase I & Phase II Contracts Awarded

The Rumson Mayor and Borough Council have approved the Resolutions to award contracts for the 2023 Road Improvement Phase I and Phase II Projects.

Phase I of the 2023 Road Improvement Program consists of the installation of concrete curbs, select sidewalk replacement, driveway apron replacement, installation of ADA accessible curb ramps, drainage pipe replacement, and pavement resurfacing on Wardell Avenue, Riverside Drive and Ivins Place.

Phase II of the 2023 Road Improvement Program consists of work similar to Phase I of the 2023 Road Improvement Program on Allencrest Road, Azalea Lane, Briarwood Road, North Rohallion Drive, South Rohallion Drive, and Van Circle. The paving component in this program is being completed by New Jersey Natural Gas as part of their infrastructure improvement program.

Following the official bid openings on April 5th, the projects were awarded to Lancha Construction Corp as its submission represented the lowest, most responsive bid.

“Borough Council spends countless hours every year on our capital improvement projects in order to upgrade our town’s infrastructure,” Mayor Hemphill said. “This year our paving program will upgrade many miles of Borough streets, which I am sure will please many of our deserving residences. I want to thank our Borough Administrator and Borough Engineer for all their work in making this happen.”

The Borough has worked with Lancha Construction Corp on other major projects including, but not limited to, the East River Road Curb & Sidewalk Improvements program.

Work is scheduled to begin once the current utility upgrade work is completed.

The Mayor and Borough Council would like to thank the residents for their patience as the work on these projects takes place in the coming months.
