The Borough of Rumson is proud to announce the official opening of the new Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge (S-32), a vital link connecting the communities of Rumson and Sea Bright and a major milestone in Monmouth County’s commitment to modern, safe, and resilient infrastructure.
During a ceremony held Thursday, July 31, Rumson Mayor Joseph K. Hemphill addressed residents, local officials, and project partners, celebrating the successful completion of the bridge and the collaborative efforts that made it possible.
“This is more than just a bridge, it’s a symbol of connection, progress, and partnership,” Rumson Mayor Joseph K. Hemphill said. “It is a tremendous honor to have served as Mayor not only at the groundbreaking, but now at the official opening of this structure, which will serve the Two Rivers community for generations to come.”
The Borough of Rumson extends its sincere gratitude to:
The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, for their vision, support, and continued investment in the future of the region.
Monmouth County Engineer Joseph Ettore and his team, whose expert engineering and tireless oversight helped deliver a bridge that is both functional and aesthetically significant.
The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), whose planning and advocacy ensured the project’s regional success.
The many contractors, engineers, and workers who brought the project to life through hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication, even under challenging conditions.
“This bridge is a reflection of the great communities it connects,” Hemphill said. “To our residents, thank you for your patience and support. To all who cross this bridge today and in the years to come. Safe travels."
