2026 Capital Improvement Projects
West Park / Jumping Point Park Improvement Project
The West Park / Jumping Point Park Improvement Project is a significant investment in recreation, accessibility, landscaping and waterfront improvements. Funded in part by a $361,817 Monmouth County Municipal Park Improvement Program grant, the project will include a new playground, improved waterfront access and walkways, new curbing and sidewalks, landscaping and tree plantings, as well as new benches, picnic tables, bike racks and a water fountain/bottle-fill station. Construction is anticipated to begin this Fall, with active work areas temporarily closed to the public for safety.
2026 Road Improvement Program
The Borough of Rumson’s 2026 Road Improvement Program will make infrastructure and roadway improvements to Buttonwood Lane from Rumson Road to Club Way, Broadmoor Drive from Rumson Road to the cul-de-sac, and Thornton Way from mid-block to Broadmoor Drive. The project includes drainage system improvements and repairs, replacement of concrete curbs, driveway and landscaping restoration, and full-width pavement milling and resurfacing. The Borough awarded the construction contract to L&L Paving. The project will take approximately three months, and residents should anticipate temporary road closures, traffic restrictions and periodic impacts to driveway access during active construction periods.
