Two were killed in battle; two died in non-battle related accidents; and three died of pneumonia, victims Private Lagroteria was among those who died from wounds sustained there. He was rushed to the Camp Vail hospital and died three hours later. He died of pneumonia on October 27, 1918, only three months after leaving home. His father died in 1910 at age 35 and he had a younger sister who died when she was only seven.
